Terms of service

  1. These Terms of Service apply to all persons using chess.org and its affiliate websites (hereinafter referred to as chess.org).
  2. Information or data published on this website, except for the following Terms of Service, are not deemed to be a legal act leading to formation of a legal relationship between the Operator and the User, unless in individual cases expressly stipulated otherwise.
  3. The Operator is the only person who is entitled to decide on changes, removal or amendment of this website or any part of it.
  4. The Terms of Service of chess.org become valid and effective as from the days of their publication and the Operator is the only person who is entitled to change or amend these Terms of Service.
  5. These Terms of Service were executed in English language. In case of any conflict between any translated version and the English version hereof, the English version prevails.

Exclusion and Limitation of Liability

  1. The Operator is not liable for accuracy and integrity of information included in this website. The Operator may change any data any time and is not liable for any loss or damage arising to Users in connection with use of this website.
  2. The Operator is further not liable for availability or any content of external websites that may be visited through this website. The Operator is also not liable for any advertisements or any other form of promotion carried out by any third party through this website.
  3. The Operator is not liable for any content of messages exchanged among Users of certain parts of this website (especially Discussion Forum) and reserves the right to remove any message containing any information that may be considered unlawful, harmful, abusive, defamatory, vulgar, obscene or otherwise unacceptable. The Operator reserves the right to delete defamatory, harmful, abusive or vulgar usernames.

Rights and Obligations of the User

  1. The User declares and warrants that:
    1. has full legal capacity, especially from the age point of view,
    2. has become familiar with these Terms of Service prior to commencement of use of chess.org and that he understands and fully agrees herewith.
  2. The User may not use chess.org in contrary herewith or with applicable legal regulations of the Czech Republic.
  3. The User may not use chess.org or its part for commercial purposes in a way capable to cause damage to chess.org or other users, especially:

    2. to misuse, block, modify or change any part of chess.org,
    3. to intervene by any means in the content or technical base of chess.org.

Personal Data Protection

  1. The Operator processes personal data of Users who have filled in a registration form. User's personal data protection is ensured in accordance with Act No. 101/2000 Sb., on the Protection of Personal Data, as amended. Personal data will be processed for an indefinite period of time through a secured computer program.
  2. The User agrees with processing of the following personal data: username, email address, password and acknowledges that the personal data was provided voluntarily.
  3. The User agrees to receive information and business communication in connection with chess.org on the User's email address of the. The User is entitled to revoke the consent in writing at any time.
